Dorothy LaVerne Blackwell, age 79, died on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Savannah Court Retirement Home in Minden, Louisiana.
Ms. Blackwell was born July 29, 1941 in Louisiana. She was retired from Red River Army Depot and a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. Ms. LaVerne enjoyed being with her friends and family and traveling the world and seeing exotic places. She also enjoyed going on a cruise to tropical places with her cousins, she loved to cook and doing arts and crafts. The most important thing in her life was being with family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Dorothy Blackwell.
She is survived by special family and friends.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Clark Colbert officiating. Burial was under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
