by Minden Press-Herald

QUITMAN – The Doyline Panthers didn’t get the result they were looking for on the road against Class B’s No. 8 team, Quitman.

Friday’s matchup between the Panthers and Wolverines was the final contest of the regular season, as both teams now turn their focus to the postseason.

The Panthers could only muster two hits on the night, both of them singles.

Cameron Smith took the loss on the mound for Doyline, pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs.

Joshua Longstreath tossed the final 1 1/3 innings, striking out three batters.

Doyline will host Monterey in round one of the Class B playoffs Wednesday, with a start time to be announced later.
