Students at E.S. Richardson Elementary spent the day Friday participating in activities such as planting a flower garden, cleaning up the city park, taking in recyclable items, making posters and writing essays in celebration of Earth Day. The children learned about the importance of taking care of their environment and keeping it clean. Earth Day began in 1970 to bring awareness to environmental issues and protecting the planet.
