Doyline pulls off crazy comeback

by Minden Press-Herald

DOYLINE – The Doyline Panthers pulled off an improbable victory Friday over the Castor Tigers, scoring four points in six seconds to stun the visitors, 56-55.

A raucous home crowd celebrated just moments after visiting fans offered up ‘goodbye’ chants assuming victory was in hand.

Doyline’s Desmond Jackson started the comeback with a deep 3-pointer, then came a steal off an inbound pass. With 0.2 seconds to go, Jackson hurled another three and was fouled on the attempt. He hit the first two free throws and missed the third on purpose to run out the clock and give Doyline a wild win.

Desmond Jackson led the Panthers with 18 points, followed by Jatavion Jackson and Xavieon Jackson with 11 points and Tyreck Wilson added 10 points.
