Dr. Jayda Spillers to speak at Lions Club Sept. 11

Dr. Jayda Spillers is scheduled to serve as the Minden Lion’s Club featured speaker at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Dr. Spillers is the Chancellor of Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC), located on Industrial Drive, Minden, Louisiana.


Dr. Spillers will speak to the Minden Lion’s Club members on the subject of the Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College and the transformative growth and innovation in technical education that she has led.

Since assuming the role of Chancellor, Dr. Spillers has significantly increased enrollment and guided NLTCC to candidacy status with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Her leadership has propelled the college to national and state recognition in 2025, including a ranking of 21 among community colleges nationwide, inclusion in USA Today’s inaugural list of Top Vocational Schools, and a #4 ranking among Louisiana community colleges.

Prior to her chancellorship, Dr. Spillers served as Vice Chancellor of NLTCC, where she expanded dual enrollment, increased industry-based certification and credential attainment, and successfully led the college’s initial SACSCOC credentialing efforts.

Dr. Spillers holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the University of Central Oklahoma, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Centenary College, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisiana Monroe.

A life-long resident of Minden, Dr. Spillers and her husband Allen are the proud parents of a son who is an electrical apprentice and a daughter-in-law who is a pharmacist.
