Seeds Women’s Center put a festive spin on volunteer recognition last week, hosting its “Nacho Average Volunteer Appreciation Party” to celebrate the people who keep its mission moving.
From greeting families with a smile to helping moms shop in the Baby Boutique and lending a hand during busy ultrasound days, Seeds volunteers play a vital role in creating what Executive Director Amber Bradford called a “judgment-free zone” for local families. “Each and every day we need volunteers to help us get through our days,” she said.
The appreciation event featured Mexican fare donated by El Jimador, including rice, beans, chips and salsa. Board members attended to thank volunteers personally, and door prizes added to the fun.

Bradford expressed gratitude to those who give their time and talents, saying their impact stretches beyond the center’s walls. “These amazing volunteers make a difference not only for Seeds but for our community,” she said.
Looking ahead, Seeds announced its annual fundraising banquet is set for 6 PM Thursday, October 9, at the Minden Civic Center. The evening will feature Christian comedian Tim Boyd as speaker. The center is seeking table hosts and sponsors, and tickets are required to attend.
“Help us continue to thrive at our new location and learn how you can partner with Seeds to make a difference and save the lives of precious babies!”
