Funeral services for Edna Earl McGuire Mays will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. James Moore and Rev. Johnny Combs officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Simsboro Cemetery in Simsboro, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 12 noon Tuesday until service time at Lakeview United Methodist Church. 

Edna Earl was born September 12, 1933 in Simsboro, Louisiana and entered into rest April 5, 2019 in Bossier City, Louisiana. She graduated from Simsboro High School and Louisiana Tech University, later retiring as a Physical Education teacher at Ruston High School. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church and loved her fellowship there. 

Edna Earl Mays was preceded in death by her husband, Revis Lamar Mays, niece, Amy Danielle McGuire, and nephew, Rickey Russell. 

She is survived by her son, Randal Lee Mays of Marshall, Texas, daughter, Rita Lu Hoenke and husband Ragan of Minden, sister, Patsy C. Gullatt and husband Jap of Haughton, brother, Samuel D. McGuire and wife Dianne of Minden, grandson, Michael Scott Scriber of Lafayette, great-granddaughter, Rowyn Isabella Scriber and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Brad McGuire, Patrick Gullatt, Steve Gullatt, Stanley Dupuy, Doug Brewer, and Teddy Polman.

Memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home/Amy McGuire Memorial Scholarship  or Lakeview United Methodist Church.
