Fall from pickup truck kills man in Dixie Inn

Around 11:40 a.m. Thursday, Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle crash on US 80 just west of US 371 that claimed the life of a Shreveport man. 

According to a report from Troop G, the preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Nissan pick-up truck driven by 59-year-old Michael Chreene of Minden, Louisiana was traveling west on US 80 conducting water meter readings for the town of Dixie Inn.  For reasons still under investigation, two Webster Parish work release trustees fell from the back of the moving pick-up truck.

The trustees were identified as 30-year-old Kenneth George of Shreveport and 26-year-old Tyler Hodges of Minden. 

George was transported to Minden Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  Hodges was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport with moderate injuries.

Toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis.    This crash remains under investigation.In 2018, Troop G has investigated 14 fatal crashes resulting in 14 deaths.
