CThe Webster Fire District 2 Board of Commissioners met last week to reduce the millage from 10 mills to 6 mills for the 2016 tax year. Businesses and homeowners should see a substantial tax savings with the reduction. Chairman Brent Hunt said the lower milleage rate is possible due to a 10-year contract signed with the Sibley Fire Department for fire protection. The Fire Protection Class for District 2 was recently lowered from a six to a five, which will result in lower fire insurance premiums. Hunt said this was a direct result from the outstanding job done by the Sibley Fire Department.
