Flash flooding hits northwest Louisiana, prompts closures

by Amber McDown

Recent thunderstorms and heavy rains have triggered flash flooding and regular flooding across several parts of northwest Louisiana. As a result, various establishments have either closed or adjusted their hours of operation. Residents are advised to check ahead before venturing out.

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College is set to open at noon today, while Bossier Parish Community College will remain closed. Additionally, the Shreveport courthouse and state offices will be closed due to the weather conditions.

On the other hand, offices at the City of Minden, Webster Parish Police Jury, and Minden City Court are open for regular business. However, the Registrar of Voters, classified as a state office, is closed.
