FUMC cuts ribbon on new children’s building

by Minden Press-Herald

First United Methodist Church of Minden hosted a ribbon cutting for its new children’s building. With classrooms and a multipurpose worship room, the building better fits the needs of the growing church. The church, a member of the Minden-South Webster Chamber of Commerce, is opening the building to the community, the Rev. Brian Mercer, pastor, said. With a lobby, kitchen area, office space and classrooms from Pre-K through grade six, they are set up to meet the needs of the children. Outside is a playground area and a sandy volleyball court. Pictured are members of the Chamber of Commerce, church members and the children, who will benefit from the newly constructed building. It took roughly one and a half years to build.
