Funeral set for officer who died after Sept. wreck

SLIDELL, La. (AP) — The funeral is set for a police officer in Louisiana who died last week from injuries suffered in September motorcycle crash as he was escorting a funeral procession.

The Slidell Police Department told news outlets the funeral for officer Jason Seals will be held Wednesday. Seals died early Saturday from injuries in a crash on Sept. 28 when a vehicle pulled out in front of him.

The noon funeral on Wednesday will be proceeded by a visitation.

After the funeral, there will be a procession to Forest Lawn Cemetery. The route has not been set yet.
