Glenbrook falls to Riverfield

by Minden Press-Herald

The Glenbrook Apaches showed their coach something Friday night, despite being on the wrong end of a 40-14 game against Riverfield Academy.

“I was really proud of our effort,” Carmikle said. “Our defense played with their hair on fire coming out. Offensively, we put the defense in some really bad situations, but we were able to go back and fourth with them a little bit.”

The Apaches found their rhythm on offense late in the game.

“We could have folded in the second half,” Carmikle said. “But we came out and battled, got some points on the board and finished. Even though we got beat, this may be the most proud of them I’ve been all year. Riverfield is a good football team.”

Glenbrook’s next contest will be a huge district clash with River Oaks in Monroe.
“When we do our jobs we are a good football team,” Carmikle said. “Our guys are starting to believe.”
Hunter Vaughn carried seven times for 65 yards and two touchdowns, adding 68 yards through the air. Marshall

Meek added 40 yards rushing, Seth Tyler ran for 31 yards and Joseph Windham led the receivers with three catches for 64 yards. Drennan Keen led the defense with 10 tackles and two forced fumbles, Parker Christy added seven, Lyle Reagan had six tackles and an interception and Garrett Sanders finished with five tackles.
