GRAMBLING – The Lakeside Warriors had a tough night against the Grambling Kittens, suffering a 50-0 loss.
The Kittens got three touchdowns from Austin Andrews, including one on their first play from scrimmage, putting the Warriors in a hole they could never dig out of.
“We just weren’t stepping up into the spots we were supposed to be,” Lakeside head coach Joey Pesses said.
“They were definitely the more aggressive team. As coaches we have to improve that.”
The loss moves Lakeside’s record to 0-3, but there is still plenty of time to turn it around.
“You’ve got to play the game and have fun with it,” Pesses said. “You can’t think so much, but that’s where we are. In the Plain Dealing game we didn’t think and we played with emotion. We have to get that back.”
The Warriors will get back to work and hopefully rebound with a win at home against an even tougher opponent in Ouachita Christian School.
