Glenbrook tops Riverdale in pair of games

The Glenbrook Apache youth teams were back on the gridiron this past week, starting with the third and fourth grade team.

In the third and fourth graders shutout win over Riverdale, Reagan Coyle had 53 yards rushing to go with 12 catches receiving. Garrett Brown caught five passes, Chase Sentell ran for 98 yards and Landry Powell added 70 yards rushing.

Coyle, Powell and Sentell all scored touchdowns for the Apaches, with Coyle and Brown both scoring on extra point tries as well.

Landry Powell led the team in tackles with six, followed by Garrett Brown with five and Cade Herron with three.

The fifth and sixth grade youth Apaches ran out to a big lead and won easily as well, stomping the Rebels fifth and sixth grade team 33-6.

Quarterback Peyton Wells had a great game passing, accounting for 166 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

His leading receiver on the day was Cooper Chase, who finished with 82 receiving yards, one touchdown reception and one touchdown run.

Cason Clemons made plays for the fifth and sixth grade team also, adding 51 yards receiving and a touchdown of his own.

On the ground, Maddox Mandino dominated, rushing for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Mandino also tied C.J. Watts for the team lead in tackles.
