Great Minden Chamber issues invitation to Wine Walk

by Minden Press-Herald

Message from the Greater Minden Chamber:

Join us on Friday, December 8th for a delightful wine tasting experience and stroll through Downtown Minden, where you’ll encounter delicious snacks, captivating entertainment, exclusive discounts, and so much more. Participants purchase a $25 ticket which includes an event wine glass, at least 8 wine tasting opportunities, and a map of businesses open to shop along the way. Proceeds from this event will benefit the new Ronald McDonald House in Shreveport. Must be 21+ to participate in wine tasting. Bring ID’s. No refunds.

Questions about the Wine Walk on Friday, December 8th? Let us help with some answers!

Q: Where will the wine walk take place?

A: Those who have purchased a ticket will start at City Art Works – 701 Main Street – to check in to receive their wine glass, map, and swag bag. From there, you are welcome to shop at the participating stores in any order of your choosing. The map you receive will include all the businesses who will be open late in the Downtown Minden area. We will also have Christmas Market vendors set up inside The Venue on Pearl. You will want to make sure to visit every store, because those who do will be entered into a drawing for THREE amazing gift baskets!

Q: Where do we get the wine?

A: The maps will come printed with 8 wine punches. There will be two wine stations set up downtown. One on each end of Main Street. You will be able to return your card to the wine station at any point to try another sample. i.e – you can receive all 8 wine samples at one time or spread them out throughout the evening. Once your card has been punched 8 times, that’s it! Additional wine and spirits will be available for purchase at our downtown restaurants.

Q: What if we do not purchase a wine glass, can we still shop?

A: Absolutely! If you do not want to partake in the wine walk, the stores and restaurants will be open to anyone of all ages to visit and shop for the holiday season. Our restaurants and coffee shop will be offering a variety of drink choices, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Q: What does the money raised go towards?

A: Proceeds from this event will go towards the future Ronald McDonald House of Shreveport-Bossier. Ronald McDonald House provides a free, home away from home for families of hospitalized children. For more information about this worthy cause, visit – https://bit.ly/3RnRcVt

Q: What else do we need to know?

A: The stores and vendors will be open from 5:30pm to 8:00pm on Friday, December 8th. Once you have visited every store or vendor, bring your completed card back to the registration table at City Art Works to be entered into a drawing for some amazing items. We’re talking – botox, jewerly, personal care products, gift cards and so much more! Maybe even an overnight stay at the Villas at Spanish Court?! You won’t want to miss the chance to win these prizes!

It’s going to be a great evening of shopping, wine tasting, and fun! Gather your friends and family and join us as we kick off the Christmas in Minden festivities!
