Greater Minden Chamber President resigns

by Minden Press-Herald

The Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new President/CEO. Stephanie Barnette has tendered her resignation effective Nov. 29. She has been in her current role since Oct. 2016.

“A lot of thought and prayer has gone into this decision, but now is the season for me to focus my path to a new direction,” Barnette wrote in a letter to the chamber membership.

“Stephanie has been presented with a wonderful opportunity, and we wish her the very best,” said Trey Waller, 2019 Chamber Chairman.

The work of the Chamber will continue on, and Barnette will help as much as possible through the coming days and weeks.

“I fully intend to lend my hand and help in any way possible during this transition phase,” she wrote. “I believe that we have a great community and incredible members of this Chamber. I want that to continue for many years to come.”

Waller said the Board is actively searching for Barnette’s replacement. “We want to find the very best person for the position as we move forward,” he said. “Stephanie has been instrumental in putting the Greater Minden Chamber in a very good position, and we want to make sure that momentum continues.”

Barnette echoed Waller’s sentiment in her letter. “As I step away, the Chamber Board of Directors will be considering the best path forward for the organization in our constantly changing world,” she wrote. “I ask that you please give the Board and team at the chamber your full support as they navigate this season of change.”

“This organization will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope to see it continue to succeed like I know it will,” Barnette wrote.
