A Minden man was arrested Monday after officers allegedly discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
According to an arrest affidavit, 43-year-old Bobby Lee Young was arrested at approximately 11:50 a.m. on July 28 after officers stopped a blue Ford E-350 van on Park Highway near Summit Street for traveling in the center of the roadway.
Authorities said the driver and passenger were questioned during the stop after officers observed suspicious behavior. During the investigation, officers asked both individuals to exit the vehicle and conducted a pat-down search for weapons.
According to the report, an officer noticed an object concealed inside Young’s shirt. When asked about it, Young reportedly replied, “Just get it. You’re going to find out anyway.” After being questioned again, Young allegedly told officers the item was methamphetamine.
Investigators recovered a black container and a blue sock concealed inside Young’s shirt. According to the report, the container held approximately 1.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with a cut straw containing residue and a glass smoking pipe with residue.
Young, who resides in the 900 block of Park Highway, was arrested and booked on one count of possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances (methamphetamine) and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
