The Lakeside Warriors began their outdoor track season at the 16 team Benton Tiger Relays. The young Warrior teams were able to score 13 in the boys’ division and two in the girls’ division.
Leading the way for the guys was Eric Greene. The senior all-stater clocked a personal best of 10:03.38 in the 3200. Greene and Parkway’s Cole Billot battled for eight laps with Billot coming out on top with a time of 10:01.88. Cody Robinson also scored for the Warriors running a 4:55 1600 good for sixth place. In the field, Jordan Richard placed fourth in the shot with a toss of 40′ 10″. Other performers in the field with good opening marks was Hayden Finley, who cleared 8′ 0″ in the pole vault; Zac Zaldivar, with 133′ 7″ in the javelin; and Michael Bradford at 18′ 2″ in the long jump.
The Lady Warriors scored two points with a fifth in the 400 Relay with a time of 57.20.
Next action for the teams was supposed to be at Simsboro on Friday, March 11, but those events were canceled due to recent rains and flooding.
