Schools expected to reopen Tuesday

by Minden Press-Herald

Webster Parish Schools will reopen Tuesday after being closed for nearly a week due to massive flooding throughout the parish.

Webster Parish Superintendent of Schools Dr. Dan Rawls says school officials have been working through the weekend to make sure busses can get to all the children they must pick up.

“Bus routes have been rerouted, and we have to make sure that we have adequate services like fire and police,” he said. “By Monday, we should have everything ready and that it’s all safe. We think we should be able to open Tuesday morning as normal if everything is safe.”

He says they will meet again Monday morning to make sure everything is in order to reopen.
