The Webster Parish Health Unit is offering free STD tests Tuesday, as part of STD Awareness Month, according to a press release.
“April is STD Awareness Month and now is a great time to take care of your sexual health,” the press release said. “There’s no denying that sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs) are at an all-time high, and if you are sexually active, you are at risk of infection.”
To help promote testing and make treatment readily available and convenient, the Webster Parish Health Unit is having extended hours and offering free, confidential STD testing on Tuesday, April 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
“We will be offering testing for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HIV,” the release said.
“Rapid HIV testing allows you to get results within minutes while other samples will go to a lab with results available within 7-10 days.
“You will not be charged for your visit, and we ask that you bring your ID/driver’s license and Medicaid/private insurance cards with you.
The Webster Parish Health Unit is located at 1200 Homer Road, Minden . Call (318) 371-3030 for more information.
“Come help us, help you,” the release said. “Stay Informed. Stay safe, and get yourself tested.”
