Heflin man arrested after domestic incident on Constable Street

by Minden Press-Herald

A Heflin man was arrested on September 1 following a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of Constable Street, which involved an altercation and the use of a Taser by law enforcement.

Officers from the Minden Police Department were dispatched after a 911 call reported that a man, later identified as Robert Robinson, 33, of Heflin, was trying to force his way into a home. The call captured the sound of the altercation in progress.

Upon arrival, officers encountered another man standing on the porch, claiming that Robinson had locked him out and was holding his mother-in-law inside against her will. Officers heard a physical struggle and a female voice yelling “Get off me” from within the residence.

As officers attempted to intervene, Robinson refused multiple commands to comply, leading one officer to deploy a Taser. Despite the use of the Taser, Robinson continued to resist, forcing officers to apply further measures to subdue him. Robinson was eventually handcuffed and placed in a patrol unit after assistance from additional officers and deputies from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Interviews with those involved revealed that Robinson, who had previously lived at the residence, had been banned from the property due to past incidents. Pate reported that Robinson had refused to leave after being confronted earlier in the day. The victim of the altercation was found with visible abrasions and stated that Robinson had pinned her against the wall, preventing her from moving.

Another resident and her daughter, who were present during the incident, corroborated the accounts of the altercation. Robinson is alleged to have previously been in a romantic relationship with three of the women in the home.

Robinson was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, false imprisonment, two counts of resisting an officer with force or violence, and remaining after being forbidden.

This incident follows a previous arrest of Robinson on August 31, 2024.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
