High school baseball: Doyline picks up win; Glenbrook falls in two tight games against Zachary

Doyline defeated Bossier 15-0 Saturday at Doyline.

Elsewhere, Lakeside dropped a 4-1 decision to Claiborne Christian on the road. Glenbrook fell twice to Zachary in two close games, 9-7 and 4-3, in Zachary.

North Webster lost to Family Community 9-7 in Shreveport.

At Doyline, seven Panthers combined for seven hits. Jonas Florence had a double.

Benton Bates had three RBI and Dakota Stewart two.

Kenneth Lee and Bates combined on a four-inning one-hitter with nine strikeouts.

At Claiborne Christian, CJ Watts went 2-for-3. 

Claiborne Christian broke a 1-1 tie with three in the bottom of the fifth.

Lakeside dropped to 12-9.

At Zachary, designated home team Glenbrook trailed 9-1 going into the bottom of the sixth in the first game.The Apaches scored three in their half and added three more in the seventh with just one out and a runner at third.

But the rally ended with two strikeouts.

Landry Powell went 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and two RBI. Easton Sanders hit a two-run home run in the seventh.

Glenbrook tied the second game at 3 in the top of sixth on back-to-back singles by Jackson Waller and Toby Haulmark and a sacrifice fly by Garrett Brown.

But Zachary scored a run on a single with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

The Apaches had five hits. Harmon had a double.

Maddox Mandino didn’t allow a hit in three innings and struck out five.

Glenbrook, which won the first game of the series 5-3 Friday, dropped to 13-8.
