High school baseball: Glenbrook, Lakeside post victories

The Glenbrook Apaches and Lakeside Warriors won Friday.

Glenbrook defeated Anacoco 7-3 in the Converse tournament.

Lakeside split a doubleheader against D’Arbonne Woods in the completion of their three-game series in Farmerville, winning the first game 8-4 in eight innings and losing the second 12-8.

It was a tough night for Minden. The Tide dropped both halves of a doubleheader against Cedar Creek in the completion of their three-game series at Griffith Stadium, 15-2 and 15-1.

Doyline fell to Plain Dealing 7-5 at home.

At the Converse tournament, the Apaches trailed 4-2 through four innings then scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Kleaton Davis went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Darron Hollingsworth went 2-for-3.

Brayden Watkins struck out nine in six innings. He allowed four hits and walked four. Hollingsworth pitched a scoreless seventh.

Glenbrook evened its record at 9-9. Anacoco dropped to 2-2.

At D’Arbonne Woods, Lakeside scored a run in the top of the seventh on Brock Case’s steal of home to tie the game at 4.

The Warriors then put four on the board in the top of the eighth. Remmington Arender, Eric Jones and Gage Williams all had singles in the inning.

Arender went 3-for-4 with a triple and double. Williams had two hits, including a double. Nate Wallace had three RBI. Bryson Finley had a double.

Williams pitched all eight innings. He scattered eight hits, struck out six and walked two.

Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the second game. Arender went 2-for-3. Drake Chreene had two RBI.

Lakeside is 5-12. D’Arbonne Woods is 4-10.

At Minden, Hudson Brown went 2-for-3 in the five-inning first game. Landon Brewer had a double. 

Brown went 2-for-2 with a double in the six-inning second game. Brewer had his second double of the night.

Minden dropped to 9-5. Cedar Creek improved to 11-2 with its seventh straight win.

At Doyline, Sam Dodge went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBi. Dario Galvez allowed just two earned runs in three innings. He allowed two hits, struck out five and walked five.

Jessie Quinn pitched the final four innings. He allowed only one hit, struck out six and walked three.

Doyline dropped to 4-6. Plain Dealing improved to 3-7.
