High school baseball: Lakeside, Doyline post victories

The Lakeside Warriors and Doyline Panthers picked up victories Tuesday.

Lakeside defeated Claiborne Christian 9-5at Lakeside. Doyline defeated Castor 14-2 in the first of a two-game District 1-B series at Castor.

At Lakeside, Peyton Gray went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.

Gray’s two-out double in the bottom of the second resulted in four runs. Gray drove in Hunter Sutton and Gage Williams. He and Jordan Isbell scored on an error.

That cut a 5-0 Claiborne Christian lead to 5-4.

Pitcher Hunter Sutton had three RBI. He went the distance and had seven strikeouts.

Lakeside (10-9) is scheduled to host Calvary Baptist in tbe first of a three-game District 1-2A series Thursday at 6.

At Castor, Cayden Mingo had two hits, including a double, in the five-inning game.

Kenneth Lee went 2-for-3. Noah Spears and Zach Normand drew a pair of walks.

Bode Meachum went four innings for the win.

The teams are scheduled to complete the series Thursday at Doyline.

On Monday, Glenbrook defeated Plain Dealing 17-0 in three innings in a District 1-1A at Glenbrook.

Dawson Day went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Jackson Waller and Sam Ricord both went 2-for-2 with doubles.

Landry Powell had a triple and two RBI. Tony Flynn had a double.

Glenbrook (9-9, 3-0) is scheduled to host Homer at 5:30 Wednesday in another district game.
