High school baseball: Minden rally falls just short; North Webster wins

The Minden Crimson Tide fell to Parkway 4-3 Friday at Griffith Stadium.

Elsewhere, North Webster defeated Zwolle 18-1 at Zwolle, Lakeside fell to Natchitoches Central 11-1 in Natchitoches and Doyline lost to Providence Classical Academy 16-1 in the Weston tournament.

At Minden, Parkway led 4-1 after two innings. The Tide cut the deficit to one with two in the fifth. Minden had runners at first and second with two out in the seventh but a flyout ended the game.

Bray Winston went 2-for-3. Hudson Brown went 2-for-4.

Landon Brewer allowed no hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks in five innings of relief.

Minden (20-11) hosts Family Christian Saturday at noon. Parkway improved to 14-17.

At Natchitoches Central, Gage Williams went 2-for-2. Brock Case had a double.

Lakeside (12-21) closes the regular season Monday against Evangel Christian at home at 6. Natchitoches Central improved to 21-11.

At Zwolle, Cayden Bernard went 3-for-3 with two RBI in the three-inning game. Chandler Mckenzie had a double and two RBI. 

Preston Ingle, Gerrit Gillentine, Tyler Brown and Landon Lewis had two RBI apiece. Justin Stewart drew three walks. Aiden Woodall struck out three in three innings.

North Webster improved to 11-15. Zwolle dropped to 4-20.
