by Russell Hedges

The North Webster Knights closed the regular season with a doubleheader sweep of Saline 6-3 and 6-1 Monday at Saline.

According to GeauxPreps.com, the sweep has moved North Webster from No. 25 to No. 24 in the non-select Division III power rankings.

Official playoff pairings will be announced by the LHSAA Tuesday. The top 24 teams in the final round official rankings make the playoffs.

If North Webster comes in at No. 24 in the final rankings, all five Webster Parish teams will be in the playoffs.

Elsewhere, Lakeside closed the regular season with a 2-0 loss to Evangel Christian at Lakeside.

The Warriors (15-14) are No. 5 in the non-select Division IV rankings and will receive a bye in the first first round.

Lakeside has scheduled a game at Quitman for Friday at 6. Quitman is No. 5 in the non-select Division V rankings and will also receive a first-round bye.

Hunter Sutton scattered five hits in six innings against Evangel. Jake Glass had a double, one of the Warriors’ three hits.
