High school softball: Glenbrook falls to No. 4 St. Frederick in second round of playoffs

The No. 13 seed Glenbrook Lady Apaches fell to No. 4 St. Frederick 7-0 in the second round of the select Division IV playoffs Monday in Monroe.

The District 1-1A champion Lady Apaches closed the season 17-14.

St. Frederick’s Abagail Creighton limited the Lady Apaches to two singles in 6 2/3 innings. She struck out nine and walked none.

Vivian Still and Gracie Heard had Glenbrook’s hits. 

St. Frederick hit four home runs. Avery Houser had two of those and four RBI. The Lady Warriors will take a 19-8 record into the quarterfinals.

Lakeside (16-16), the No. 11 seed, visits No. 6 Merryville (17-5) in a non-select Division IV second-round game Tuesday at 5:30.

Minden (18-11), the No. 13 seed, visits No. 4 North Vermilion (22-6) in a non-select Division II second-round game Wednesday at 4:30.
