High school basketball: Crimson Tide fall to Bossier in ‘Doc’ Edwards quarterfinals; Lady Tiders get win

The Minden Crimson Tide fell to the Bossier Bearkats 62-41 in the quarterfinals of the “Doc” Edwards Invitational Friday at Benton.

The Tide got behind early and trailed 37-21 at the half. Bossier’s Javon Johnson hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 of his 25 points in the first half.

Carmelo Smith and Darnell Morris led Minden (9-4) wit nine points each.

Bossier fell to host Airline 49-48 in the semifinals Friday night. The Vikings face defending champion Huntington for the title at 7:30 Saturday.

The Lady Tiders split games in the girls consolation bracket.

Minden defeated Zwolle 47-45 in the quarterfinals then fell to Northwood 68-47 in the semifinals.

The Lady Tiders head into 2024 with a 7-7 record.

Minden Holiday Classic champion Arcadia faces Hornbeck for the girls championship at 6 at Airline.
