High school basketball: Crimson Tide get district win

The Minden Crimson Tide defeated Northwood 57-46 in a District 1-4A boys game Tuesday night at Northwood.

Cameron Parker and Kam Harris led Minden (11-8, 3-2) with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Markavius Johnson added 10.

Northwood dropped to 9-12 overall and 1-4 in district.

The Lady Tiders fell to the Lady Falcons 64-47. Minden dropped to 15-12 overall and 3-4 in district.

Going into the game Minden was No. 22 in the non-select Division II power rankings. The top 28 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.

The Lady Tiders visit Loyola Wednesday then close the regular season Friday against Southwood at home.

In a District 1-1A boys game Tuesday, Glenbrook came up just short, falling to Jonesboro-Hodge 61-58 at Glenbrook. The Apaches dropped to 7-17 overall and 2-3 in district.

Elsewhere, North Webster lost to Carroll in District 1-3A boys and girls games at home.

The Knights (13-11, 2-4), who defeated Carroll 47-46 Saturday on the road, fell 53-48. The Lady Knights (9-16, 0-7) lost 38-29.

Shakyra Hawkins led North Webster with 12 points. Nazaria Caldwell added eight.

North Webster entered the game No. 28 in the non-select Division III power rankings. The top 28 teams in the final rankings make the playoffs.

The Lady Knights close the regular season Friday against Sterlington at home.
