High school basketball: Doyline boys extend win streak to nine; North Webster girls win

The Doyline Panthers extended their winning streak to nine with a 49-29 victory over Summerfield Thursday night at Summerfield.

The game was originally scheduled for Nov. 7 but it was postponed.

The Panthers improved to 12-1.

Jay Patterson continued his torrid start to the season with 21 points. It took him a little while to heat up. After scoring just one point in the first half, he had eight in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth.

Damarion McClendon and Rod Clark scored 11 each. Clark hit three 3-pointers.

The Panthers led 19-8 at the half and 35-20 after three quarters.

Doyline visits Plain Dealing Friday.

In other boys games Thursday, North Webster fell to Byrd 70-41 at Byrd and Lakeside lost to Homer 75-59 at Lakeside.

In girls games, North Webster edged Byrd 54-52 at Byrd and Lakeside fell to Homer 51-31.

The Lady Knights improved to 5-2.

The Minden boys and girls host Byrd Friday night.

The Crimson Tide will try to improve to 6-0. Byrd is off to a 3-5 start.

The Lady Tiders (3-3) will be looking for back-to-back victories. The Lady Jackets are 0-5.

Glenbrook visits Simsboro in boys and girls games.
