ATC Minden Family Center hosts Christmas Banquet fundraiser

by Amber McDown

Adult & Teen Challenge (ATC) Minden Family Center held its annual Christmas banquet fundraiser on December 5 at the Minden Civic Center. The event drew a large crowd in support of the faith-based residential recovery program, which operates three training centers in Louisiana.

The Minden Family Center stands out as the only facility in the state where mothers can complete the entire recovery program with their children, thanks to an on-site daycare.

Attendees enjoyed dinner, a performance by a children’s choir, an expressionistic dance by women in the program, and a silent auction. Several young women shared personal testimonies about how ATC has transformed their lives and helped them become better mothers.

“It’s having a direct impact on these little children,” said Andy Jenkins. “You’re not investing in just a mom, you’re also investing in these children.”

The ATC program spans 12 to 14 months and is open to individuals as young as 17 who are seeking to overcome life-controlling problems. With an 86% success rate, the program is offered at no cost to participants, relying heavily on community support.

ATC welcomes volunteer services, financial contributions, and prayers. Monthly sponsorship opportunities allow supporters to directly connect with the program, with options to sponsor a student for $35 per month or a student and her child for an additional $15. Sponsors receive photos, progress updates, and invitations to graduations, fostering a deeper connection to the program.

With its transformative impact on families, ATC continues to make a lasting difference in the Minden community and beyond. For more information, visit www.laatc.com or call the Minden Family Center at (318) 382-0203.
