The Minden Crimson Tide and Glenbrook Apaches  won home games Friday night.

Minden defeated Booker T. Washington 75-50, and Glenbrook downed Providence Classical Academy 37-28.

In a District 1-B opener, Doyline fell to Simsboro 71-55 at Doyline. In a District 3-2A game, Lakeside lost to Mansfield 70-31 at Lakeside.

In a non-district game, North Webster fell to North DeSoto 60-53 at North DeSoto.

At Minden, four Crimson Tide players scored in double figures. Jaiden Franklin led the team with 17 points. Christian Lofton had 12. Cameron Parker and Kameron Harris chipped in 11 each. Carmelo Smith added eight and Darnell Morris seven.

The Tide got off to fast start and led 22-11 after the first quarter. They extended the lead to 41-21 at the half.

Rodrieon Dillard led the Lions with 25 points.

Minden (14-1) and BTW (13-7) are both members of District 1-4A, but Friday’s game doesn’t count in the standings. The Tide and Lions meet again at BTW on Feb. 4 in their designated district game.

Minden visits West Monroe Tuesday before opening district play Friday against Woodlawn at home.

At Glenbrook, the Apaches picked up their second victory of the season. PCA dropped to 2-10.

At Doyline, the Panthers trailed just 35-30 at the half. The Tigers extended the lead to 48-41 midway through the third quarter. Simsboro closed the quarter with a 10-3 run that included two 3-pointers for a 58-44 lead.

The Panthers had trouble hitting from long range in the second half. The quick Tigers also forced several turnovers and turned them into layups.

Simsboro (11-8) is a new member of the district. The Tigers moved over from District 2-B.

Doyline, which has won seven straight district titles, will get another shot at Simsboro on Feb. 4 at Simsboro. The Panthers continue district play Tuesday at Quitman.
