The Minden Crimson Tide and Doyline Panthers won Tuesday night.
Minden defeated Loyola College Prep 54-47 at Minden and Doyline routed North DeSoto 75-50 at North DeSoto.
Elsewhere, Glenbrook came up just short, falling to Providence Classical Academy 49-46 at PCA.
At Minden, Gerald Richardson hit a 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter to give the Crimson Tide a 45-35 lead.
Loyola battled back and got within 49-47. The Flyers had a chance to tie but Markavius Johnson blocked a fast-break layup with 1:43 to play.
Minden inbounded the ball underneath its basket. Richardson intercepted the long pass and drove for a layup to give the Tide a 51-47 lead with 1:33 left.
Good defense inside prevented Loyola from scoring. Minden hit one free throw with 39.9 seconds left then sealed the victory with a steal and layup.
Richardson and Cameron Parker led the Tide (6-5) with 14 points each. Kameron Harris added 10 and Johnson nine.
Joe Metoyer and Keller Brown led Loyola (5-10) with 15 points each.
Minden and Loyola are both in 1-4A but Tuesday’s game won’t count in the standings. Their designated district game is Jan. 27 at Loyola.
At North DeSoto, Doyline improved to 13-7 with its sixth straight victory. The Panthers visit North Webster Thursday. North DeSoto dropped to 0-5.
