The Minden Lady Tiders, Lakeside Lady Warriors and Doyline Lady Panthers picked up victories Tuesday night.
Minden defeated Loyola College Prep 59-41 at Minden, Lakeside downed Haynesville 67-49 at Lakeside and Doyline edged North DeSoto 31-27 at North DeSoto.
Minden and Loyola are both in District 1-4A, but Tuesday’s game won’t count in the standings. The teams’ official district game is Jan. 27 at Loyola.
The Lady Tiders and Lady Flyers were tied at 5 through the first five minutes of the game. Minden then closed the first quarter with an 11-0 run, including back-to-back 3-pointers by Brooklyn Jefferson, for a 16-5 lead.
Loyola got as close as seven in the second but the Lady Tiders went on a 6-0 run and extended the lead to 33-16 at the half.
The Lady Tiders led 51-30 after three quarters. Minden’s full-court, trapping defense forced numerous turnovers throughout the game.
Jefferson led Minden (11-7) with 18 points. LeLe Johnson hit three 3-pointers and scored 13 points.
Loyola dropped to 4-10.
Minden plays Byrd Thursday at 8 p.m. on the first day of the Benton Lady Tiger Classic in Benton’s main gym.
At Lakeside, Ryleigh Taylor poured in 26 points to lead the Lady Warriors (4-8). Lexi McIntosh scored 22. Jalacia Roberson added 10.
At North DeSoto, Doyline improved to 6-11 with its third straight victory. North DeSoto dropped to 2-11. Doyline visits North Webster Thursday.
