High school girls basketball: Minden, Lakeside, Glenbrook win; North Webster’s winning streak ends

The Minden Lady Tiders defeated Booker T. Washington 58-28 Friday night at Minden.

Elsewhere, North Webster opened District 1-3A play with a 36-31 loss to Richwood in Springhill.

Glenbrook won its first game under new Head Coach Valerie Ricord, defeating Ringgold 36-30 in a District 1-1A game at Ringgold.

In other non-district games, Lakeside picked up its third victory, defeating Haynesville 32-12 at Lakeside, and Doyline fell to North DeSoto 49-37 at Doyline.

At Minden, Brooklyn Jefferson poured in 28 points to lead the Lady Tiders. She also had eight offensive and defensive rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

Minden (9-8) and BTW (8-12) are both in District 1-4A but the game was not a designated district game.

The teams face off in a District contest Feb. 2 at BTW. Minden closes non-district play against another 1-4A team, Northwood, Tuesday at home.

At North Webster, the Lady Knights’ 11-game winning streak came to an end.

Aniyah Davis had 14 points, 14 rebounds and two assists. 

Bree Lyons grabbed eight rebounds and scored seven points. Jachiya Harris had seven rebounds, five points and two assists.

North Webster (11-2) continues district play Tuesday at Union Parish.

Richwood improved to 14-11.

At Ringgold, Glenbrook improved to 1-1 in district. Ringgold dropped to 1-1.

Lakeside begins District 1-2A play Tuesday at home against Green Oaks. Doyline visits Summerfield Tuesday.
