High school softball: Glenbrook, Doyline get Saturday tournament wins

The Glenbrook Lady Apaches split games in the Stanley tournament Saturday.

Glenbrook fell to Choudrant 9-8 then defeated Parkway 13-7.

Doyline split games in the Red River tournament, falling to Castor 7-1 and defeating Saline 3-1.

Lakeside fell to St. John 10-0 and Church Point 13-7 in the Sulphur tournament.

Gabi Brown went 4-for-4 with five RBI in Glenbrook’s victory over Parkway. She hit a grand slam home run in the first inning.

Pitcher Rebecca Mosley had two hits, including a double, and three RBI. Anna Grace Vining had two hits, including a double.

Colby Hollis went 2-for-2. Vivian Still also had two hits. Hadley Haynes had a triple.

Mosley struck out nine and walked five.

Glenbrook scored four runs in the top of the seventh to tie its game against Choudrant at 8. But the Aggies won it with one in the bottom of the inning.

Mosley went 2-for-3 with a home run. Still went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. 

Chloe Gregg’s two-run double with two out in the seventh tied the game. Ellie Earnhardt had two RBI.

Glenbrook (12-8) is scheduled to host Captain Shreve Monday at 6:30.

Doyline’s Savannah Stanley allowed one hit and struck out seven against Saline.

The Lady Panthers scored all three runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Sariyah Gill had a single and RBI. Keily Sumlin and Jasmine Torres also had singles.

Doyline (7-7) is scheduled to host Loyola Thursday at 5.

Lakeside’s Teal Austin and Emily Jones both went 2-for-4 with one double and three RBI against Church Point.

Laiklyn Squyres went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Raleah Harris also went 2-for-3.

Mackenzie McCoy went 2-for-3 against St. John.

Lakeside (6-13) is scheduled to host Green Oaks Monday at 5.
