High school softball: Glenbrook shuts out Captain Shreve, improves to 2-0; Doyline wins

The Glenbrook Lady Apaches and Doyline Lady Panthers won Thursday night.

Glenbrook defeated Captain Shreve 7-0 at Glenbrook. Doyline defeated Loyola 9-7 in its season opener at Doyline.

Elsewhere, Lakeside fell to Ouachita Parish 9-5 in Monroe. North Webster lost to Evangel Christian 19-0 at home.

At Glenbrook, Savannah Mangrum pitched the shutout. She allowed five hits, struck out five and walked one.

Gabi Brown smacked two solo home runs. Mangrum and Gracie Heard both went 2-for-3. Heard had a double.

Glenbrook (2-0) is scheduled to play in the Logansport tournament Friday and Saturday.

At Ouachita Parish, Lakeside trailed 4-3 through 4 1/2 innings but the Lady Lions scored five in the bottom of the fifth.

Teal Austin went 4-for-4 with a double. Peyton Wood went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Raleah Harris had a double.

Lakeside (1-1) hosts Caddo Magnet at 10 a.m. and Parkway at 2 p.m. Saturday.
