High school softball: Minden routs Southwood; Glenbrook, Lakeside win tournament games

The Minden Lady Tiders, Glenbrook Lady Apaches and Lakeside Warriors won Friday.

Minden defeated Southwood 18-1 in a District 1-4A game at Southwood. Glenbrook defeated Evans 17-0 and Lakeside downed Loreauville 10-3 in the Sulphur tournament.

At Southwood, Minden took advantage of 16 walks in the three-inning game.

Kylie Ferguson had a double and three RBI. Sky Savage had a double. Lizzie Balkom had three RBI. Kaelynn Williams drew three walks and had two RBI.

Audrey Frye allowed one hit, struck out seven and walked one.

Minden (8-6, 3-1) hosts Haynesville Tuesday at 5.

At the Sulphur tournament, Glenbrook’s Hallie Sutton pitched a no-hitter in the five-inning game. She struck out eight and walked one. Sutton also went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Anna Grace Vining went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Chloe Gregg went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI.

Kynzie Smith went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Gabi Brown went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Ellie Earnhardt and Addison Chanler had two RBI each.

Glenbrook improved to 14-3. Evans dropped to 2-5.

Lakeside’s Raleah Harris went 4-for-5 with a double. Meredith Robinson went 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Emily Jones had a triple, double and two RBI. Peyton Wood, Ella Wood and Rhea Waller had two hits apiece.

Ella Wood allowed four hits, struck out five and walked four in six innings. Moose Jernigan struck out two in the seventh.

Lakeside improved to 12-6. Loreauville dropped to 12-7.
