High school softball: Minden sweeps Castor; Lakeside wins

The Minden Lady Tiders and Lakeside Lady Warriors won tournament games Saturday.

Minden swept a doubleheader against Castor, 7-3 and 10-0, at home. The games were part of a tournament hosted by Minden.

Lakeside defeated Florien 12-3 in the Many tournament.

Glenbrook fell to St. Frederick 6-4 and Ouachita Christian 10-0 in the Quitman tournament.

At Minden, Kylie Ryan went 4-for-4 with three RBI in the first game. Leigha Kennon-Gilbert had a triple.

Lindsay Ryan allowed one hit, struck out four and walked three in five innings of relief.

Kylie Ryan went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI in the five-inning second game.

Jacey Adams went 2-for-3 with a double. Kaydree Kemp went 2-for-3. Belle Douglass had two RBI.

Gracie Sparks pitched a one-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks.

Minden (13-9) is scheduled to visit Weston Tuesday at 5.

Seven Lady Warriors combined for 10 hits in Lakeside’s victory.

EmilyJones went 3-for-4 with a double. Mackenzie McCoy had two doubles and three RBI.

Pitcher Hallie Sutton had a double and two RBI. Rhea Waller also had two RBI. Izzy Vise and Lexi Wood both doubled.

Sutton went the distance. She allowed five hits and struck out six.

Lakeside (9-14) is scheduled to visit Family Community Monday at 4:30.

Glenbrook’s Vivian Still went 3-for-4 with a home run and double against St. Frederick.

Ellie Earnhardt went 2-for-4. Gabi Brown and Colby Hollis doubled.

Starter Savannah Mangrum allowed three hits and struck out four.

Chloe Gregg and Gracie Heard had hits in the six-inning game against Ouachita Christian.

Glenbrook (13-12) will look to wrap up the District 1-1A title with a win Monday at Haynesville.
