The North Webster Lady Knights opened District 1-3A play Friday with a 21-0, four-inning victory over Union Parish in Farmerville.
Elsewhere, Minden and Lakeside both lost their first games at the Polar Bear Tournament hosted by Sterlington at ULM.
Minden fell to West Ouachita 6-2 and Lakeside lost to Beekman Charter 17-7.
At Union Parish, Emma Newsom didn’t allow a hit in three innings. She struck out seven and walked three.
Kerianne Allen went 4-for-4 with three doubles. Anekah Coleman went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI. Kendall Temple went 3-for-3 with two RBI,
Madison Morgan had two hits. Anna Ray had a triple and four RBI.
Adryana White had two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Kensy Brown had a double.
North Webster (4-0) hosts Captain Shreve Monday.
At ULM, Lakeside’s Mackenzie McCoy went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBI.
Hallie Sutton went 2-for-2 with a double. Raleah Harris also had two hits.
Lakeside dropped to 2-4.
Minden trailed West Ouachita 3-2 after five innings. The Lady Chiefs put three on the board in the top of the sixth.
Pitcher Kylie Ryan hit a solo home run. She allowed just three hits and one earned run with nine strikeouts and four walks.
The Lady Tiders (3-4) continue play in the tournament Saturday against Tioga at 11 a.m. and West Monroe at 1 p.m.
