High school track and field: North Webster wins girls division in Haynesville Relay; Minden runner-up in boys division

North Webster won the girls division and Minden finished runner-up in the boys Thursday in the Haynesville Relays.

North Webster scored 127 points, edging Haynesville by one point, in the girls division. Caldwell Parish finished third with 101 and Minden fourth with 81.

Minden scored 118 in the boys division. Haynesville had 169. North Webster was third with 95 and Homer fourth with 70.

North Webster’s Navaeh Watts swept the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She ran the 100 in 12.50 seconds, .62 faster than Arcadia’s JaKyria Cockerham.

Watts ran the 200 in 27.06. Cockerham finished second in 28.37.

Lakeside runners swept the distance events.

Lexi Bradley took the 1,600 in 6:35.23. Caldwell Parish’s Isabella Abrams finished 2.98 seconds behind her.

Madison McGraw won the 3,200 in 17:02.38. North Webster’s Ramzee Lewis was second in 17:39.

North Webster swept all four relays. The Lady Knights won the 4X100 in 51.20, the 4X200 in 1:50.85, the 4X400 in 4:50.71 and the 4X800 in 12:34.45.

Minden was second in the 4X400 in 4:54.13.

Lakeside’s McKenzie Chase won the pole vault with a 7-6. 

North Webster’s Amiyah White finished second in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Other North Webster athletes finishing runner-up were SherAsia Mendenhall (800),

and Kalli Bethany (pole vault).

Minden’s Kynnadi Brown finished runner-up in the discus and shot put.

Minden’s other runner-up finishers were Keirsten Dixon (400) and Natalie Henry (high jump).

North Webster athletes finishing third were Quianna Clark (100 hurdles) and Allison Lorenz (pole vault).

Minden athletes finishing third were Jolee Dison (1,600) and Kiara Dixon (high jump).

Lakeside athletes finishing third were Jalacia Roberson (300 hurdles) and Layla Thornton (javelin).

Minden’s Stafford Bailey and Christian Lofton won events in the boys division.

Bailey took the 400 in 54.42, edging Lakeside’s Omero Urbina by just .01 seconds.

Lofton and teammate Porter Neal finished 1-2 in the 1,600 in 5:31.40 and 5:33.24, respectively.

Three North Webster athletes won events.

Avante Curry took the 300 hurdles in 42.93. Haynesville’s Isaiah Washington was second in 44.03.

Gavin Marshall and his teammate Chase McKenzie finished 1-2 in the pole vault with vaults of 9-6 and 9-0, respectively.

Braedon Robertson won the long jump with a 20-7. Homer’s Jarek Shelton was second with a 20-4.

Lakeside’s JaCoby Curry took the 800 in 2:11.32, 7.2 seconds faster than Minden’s Neal.

Lakeside’s Gavin Woodall won the 3,200 in 12:54.68. Haynesville’s Carl Smith was second in 12:56.40.

Lakeside won the 4X400 relay in 3:42.71 and Minden took the 4X800 in 9:49.21.

Minden was runner-up in the 4X200 in 1:34.63. Homer won in 1:33.25.

Other Minden athletes finishing runner-up were Jaylin Williams (200) and Brayden Britton (110 hurdles).

North Webster’s  Kemaurion Jefferson finished second in the high jump.

Minden athlete’s finishing third were Tyjaveyin McClendon (400) and Cameron Parker (300 hurdles), 

North Webster athletes finishing third were Eric Silvers (1,600, 3,200), Kedrien Cody (110 hurdles) and Cameron Lewis (high jump).

Lakeside’s Joshua Sebald finished third in the 100.
