High school track and field: North Webster wins three events in Don Millen Bearkat Invitational

North Webster senior Avante Curry and freshman Xhailor McGlothan swept the 300-meter hurdles events in the Don Millen Bearkat Invitational Wednesday at Benton.

Curry won the boys race in 40.78 seconds. He finished .74 ahead of runner-up Tyler Stewart of Haughton.

McGlothan won the girls race in 49.46. She finished .45 ahead of runner-up Kinsley Brotherton of Haughton.

McGlothan also teamed with sophomore De’Maiyh Moore, sophomore Kylee Sanders and freshman Tatyana Lawson to win the 4X200 relay in 1:47.26. North DeSoto was second in 1:48.43.

The North Webster foursome of senior Anekah Coleman, sophomore Tomiyah Hawthorne, Lawson and Moore finished third in the 4X100 relay in 50.31. Mansfield won in 49.67.

The Minden foursome of Brian Turner, Kaiden Shine, Cameron Mitchell and Poerter Neal took third in the boys 4X100 relay in 43.71. Northwood won in 42.55.

Minden sophomore Brooklyn Jefferson was third in the girls high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. Loyola’s Lola Stimits won with a 4-10.

Sanders  finished third in the girls triple jump with a 30-0.5. North DeSoto’s Mikayla Mondello won with a 32-1. 

Minden junior Brayden Britton was fourth in the boys 110 hurdles in 15.46. Minden sophomore Madison Kirby finished fourth in the girls 200 in 26.78.
