Athletes from parish schools posted some good finishes in the Haughton Bob Brotherton Invitational girls division Thursday.
The meet featured five Class 5A teams and three 4A teams in the boys and girls divisions.
North Webster’s Kylee Sanders won the girls triple jump with a leap of 34 feet. Benton’s Layla Davidson was second with a 33-8.
Lakeside’s Ryleigh Taylor finished second in the long jump with a leap of 17-2. North DeSoto’s Lyric Spencer won with an 18-5.
North Webster’s Kipper Wooten finished second in the high jump with a 4-10 and fifth in the 100 hurdles in 18.68. Airline’s Shelby Ledet won the high jump with a 5-6. West Monroe’s Avery Miletello won the 100 hurdles in 16.34.
North Webster’s Xhailor McGlothan and Lakeside’s Taylor finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 100. McGlothan ran a 12.72 and Taylor a 12.78. Bossier’s Kaylyn Godfrey won in 12.29.
North Webster’s Tomiyah Hawthorne was third in the shot put with a 32-2. Bossier’s Tre’onna Thomas won with a 37-9
Taylor and teammate Abrielle Parker finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200 in 26.51 and 27.61. North DeSoto’s Lyric Spencer won in 25.57.
Lakeside’s Angel Collins and Paisley Ware were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the pole vault with heights of 7-6 and 6-6.
North Webster’s Andre’a Washington was fifth in the 400 in 1:03.68. Parkway’s Zara Baker-Scanlon won in 1:00.56.
Lakeside’s Annalisa Jolly and Alexis Laevano finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 3,200 in 15:19.07 and 15:38.39. Benton’s Claire Allen won in 12:27.49.
North DeSoto’s Mattie Cross was fifth in the triple jump with a 32-3. Her teammate Genesis Clay was sixth in the shot put with a 31-7.
Minden finished fourth in the 4X100 relay. North Webster was fourth in the 4X200. Minden and Lakeside finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 4X400. Lakeside was sixth in the 4X800.
North Webster finished seventh in the team standings with 38 points. Benton won with 105 and Airline was second with 100.
Minden’s Kaiden Shine finished sixth in the boys 100 in 11.34 and 200 in 22.92. Haughton’s Kyron Turner won the 100 in 11.05 and 200 in 22.27.
Lakeside’s Jordan Febos was sixth in the 1,600 in 5:28.08. Airline’s John Austin Bonney won in 4:43.68,
Minden was fifth in the 4X800 relay.
Weston Meet
Several Doyline athletes posted top-six finishes.
Zachary Moreno was third in the boys 1,600 in 5:13.98 and sixth in the 3,200 in 13:07.12. Quitman’s Gage Horton won the 1,600 in 4:55.90. Providence Classical Academy’s Baxter Carroll won the 3,200 in11:04.30.
Michael Wright was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 43.85. Delhi’s Terrance Williams won in 38.60.
Gabriel Burns was fifth in the high jump with a 5-10. Northwood-Lena’s Jabari McCoy win with a 6-2.
Tiago Lara finished sixth in the 400 in 54.84 and triple jump with a 38-9. Horton won the 400 in 51.53. Castor’s Matthew McCarthy won the triple jump with a 40-7.5.
District meets
The district meets are scheduled for next week.
The District 3-2A meet is Wednesday at Mansfield. The District 1-B meet is also Wednesday. The site is to be determined according to Louisiana MikeSplit.
The other three meets involving parish teams are Thursday.
The District 1-1A meet is at Lakeside. The District 1-3A meet is at Sterlington. The District 1-4A at North DeSoto.
