Hosston woman arrested for Walmart theft

by Minden Press-Herald

On February 24, Mikal Garrett, 35, from Hosston, Louisiana, was arrested for stealing $1,075.56 worth of items from the Minden Walmart.

According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the Walmart around 6 PM after an employee noticed Garrett not scanning multiple items at the self-checkout and then placing them in the trunk of her vehicle.

“Upon my arrival I was directed to where the suspect was located. It was a white female wearing a pink shirt and blue pants,” the police report stated.

After advising her of her rights per Miranda, the officer took Garrett to the security room. The security footage showed Garrett at the self-checkout not scanning multiple items for purchase and putting the items in her buggy. Security footage also showed Garrett put the items in the trunk of her car.

Garrett was charged with felony theft and was transported to the Minden Police Department, where she was booked and placed in a holding cell to await transportation to BDCC.
