Ann Police Hudson, executive director of MAR-C Industries, will be the featured speaker at the Feb. 11 meeting of the Minden Lions Club.
Hudson lives in Shreveport but has worked in the Minden area since 1990. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University. Hudson was a member of the Army Reserve for eight years and was honorably discharged with the rank of first lieutenant. Out of college, she worked as a live-in house manager for almost three years. In 1990, she began working at the former Evergreen Developmental School near Minden. Then she began opening group homes across Webster Parish in an effort to downsize the institution. Hudson coordinated a pilot program in Bossier City, moving clients with disabilities from group homes and the institution into their own homes and apartments. She has also co-owned a training company to prepare employees for working with the elderly and disabled persons.
Hudson has been associated with MAR-C Industries for the last 11 years, beginning as a consultant and moving into the executive director’s role almost five years ago. MAR-C Industries offers a variety of products, services and programming for people with developmental disabilities.
The Minden Lions Club meets Thursdays at noon at the American Legion Memorial Home, located at 119 Pine St. in Minden.
