J.L. Jones Elementary students brought stories to life Friday morning during the school’s annual Book Character Parade, a tradition that combines costumes with reading.
Students, dressed as their favorite literary characters, marched through the school’s front drive as parents lined the parade route, cheering and waving. From classic storybook figures to modern favorites, the colorful costumes reflected the books that inspired them.
Principal Krystal Friday said the event celebrates both reading and imagination. “J.L. Jones celebrated reading and creativity during its annual book character parade,” she said. “This event is part of the school’s ongoing effort to foster a love of reading.”
The festive morning offered students a chance to showcase their creativity while enjoying Halloween fun centered around books and storytelling.
