James Earl Seamster, 64, of Minden, passed away on Feb. 18, 2016 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was born to Mr. Howard and Mrs. Rosa Seamster on Oct. 2, 1951 in Minden. He was the seventh of nine siblings born. James graduated from Webster High School in 1968. He had a scholarship to Grambling State University for baseball. He was a man of many talents. Worked on various jobs. He was fun to be around and love to be around people.
James was preceded in death by his son Damon Abram and mother and father. Memories will be cherished by his wife Evelyn Seamster, brothers Vernice & Dorthy Seamster of Houston, Stephen and Crystal Jackson of Sulphur, Selester and Gloria Jean of Minden and one sister Gloria Jean Seamster of Minden, children Dietrich Seamster and his mother Debra Seamster, Christopher and Antonio Seamster and their mother Begretta Seamster, and one daughter DeAnna Venice Seamster and her mother Janice Smith Comeaux and three grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at 3 p.m. at 158 Saint James Church Road in Minden.
A poem from family: Remember Me – Remember me when you hear the wind blow. I am with God, I need you to know. He called my name, and I went to see if the voice I heard was speaking to me. He took my hand, we walked along. The road to heaven, where I belong. The angles sang so sweet and clear. They sang of love and that Jesus is near.
