Funeral services for Jerry Tarpley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastors Ron Johnson and Matt Cate. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, Louisiana. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Rose-Neath. 

Jerry was born January 18, 1943 in Homer, Louisiana to Chance (CC) and Mattie Acklen Tarpley. He went home to be with his Lord, January 25, 2021 following a short illness. 

Jerry was an accomplished paper hanger and painter for over 40 years. After retirement he loved life in the country. He enjoyed serving the Lord with friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Minden. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles Tarpley; sister, Jean Hutchins and niece Darla Thibodeaux. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Green Tarpley; his sisters, Elouise Lewis, Shirley Musgrove, Carolyn Akin and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Brooks Gray, Jake Gray, Lane Goodwin, Clay Goodwin, David Lemay, and Randy Clemons. 

Friends considering memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 713 Homer Road, Minden, Louisiana 71055 in memory of Jerry.
