Funeral services for Jesse G. Morrison will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Tom Brown and Marc Pittman officiating and Masonic rites. Interment will follow at Mt Moriah Cemetery in Hineston, Louisiana. The family will receive friends at 8 a.m Saturday at Rose-Neath prior service time.
Jesse was born March 18, 1940 in Glenmora, Louisiana and entered into rest November 14, 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Hicks High School and Northwestern State University. Jesse was a member of Yellow Pines Christian Church where he was director of the council. He was a mason with the Minden Lodge #51 F&AM for 50 plus years where he served as master twice past, a member of El Karubah Shriners, and the American Legion 388. He retired from FMC Sidewinder as a design engineer. He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and loved cooking fish for his many friends and family. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nola Gordy, Elsie Lawrence, Doris Dunn, and Madeline Hack.
He is survived by his son, Steven Morrison of Minden; daughters, Cynthia Morrison of New Orleans, and Kristin Krouse and husband Phillip of Minden; long-time companion, Callie Franklin of Sibley; sister, Marilyn Williamson of Hineston; grandchildren, Lukas Krouse and Sydney-Faith Krouse.
Pallbearers will be Bud Pickett, Dale Jones, Brent Cooley, Jerry Strickland, Jesse Wayne Dunn, Gary Lynn Dunn, Jesse Wayne Dunn, Jr, Roger Williamson, Christopher Hack, Michael Hack, and Greg Hackney.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Pittman, Elbert Pittman, and his fellow Masons.
